Need dates Oil was discovered N and E of Robinson,Crawford Cty. and by whom. Also about what date was oil discovered at 800 east and 1415-1450 north probably Sec 6-7-12,the s 1/2 SW 1/4 about 1898-1900 [???] which is north of Robinson? The 1898 plat map shows Henry CULVER as owner. Also did Henry CULVER's Mother Manurva CULVER Deed or give the 160 acres to him? I can find no record of transfer or Deed, hope some one can help me.

I am interested in learning more about my family which originated around the Palestine area. My grandfather, Robert REYNOLDS was married to Mary GARRARD. My grandfathers parents were named Ray REYNOLDS and Ida HILL. My grandmother, Mary GARRARD passed away in the 1950s. My grandfather still has a living aunt somewhere in Palestine named Margerie LANKSTON.

Children: Charles,b. abt 1846; Samuel, b. 1852; Benjamin b. abt 1863; Alvah J. b. abt 1860; Mary b. abt 1843; Martha b. abt 1855; Letitia b. abt1857. George Washington WOODS was born 29-Aug-1824 in Rockingham County, Virginia. He married Amanda Victoria FLEEK 26-Apr-1846. He migrated to Crawford County, Illinois, before 1860 from Licking County, Ohio. He left Crawford County, Illinois, before 1880 and went to Edwards County, Kansas. I am interested in exchanging information with anyone who knows about this family.

MASSEY I'm looking for info on Mansfield MASSEY. In the 1830 census of Crawford County, it listed Mansfield MASSEY; (1) free white male of 20 and under 30, (1) free white female under 5, and (1) free white female of 20 and under 30. What I would like to know is was Mansfield MASSEY in the 1820 census of Crawford Co. and who his wife was, and when she may have died.

CAIN, RANSFORD, KEENAN I am searching for info on the following CAIN's -- Lewis and Sarah (KEENAN), and their children: Mary C., William F., Charles T., Daniel, Samuel G., Martha, Lutitia, Emily. Lewis died Sept 27 1871, They all lived in Perry Co. Ohio except Charles T. who lived in Crawford Co. IL in 1871. After Lewis' death, Sarah and children moved to Crawford Co, IL and in 1880 married Edward Ransford. Edward had son by previous marriage, Luther Ransford.

In 1850 they were living in Perry Co., OH. Also, their children were William, Joseph, Eliza, *Philip, Samuel, George, **Mary, Hannah, and Margaret. ** Mary FISHER married Daniel MOYER on 12/3/1835, at Perry Co., OH. *Philip FISHER married Mary Elizabeth MOYER on 4/22/1837, at Perry Co., OH. According to the book "Old Part of the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, IL," by King -- The listing for Philip FISHER is as follows: "Phillip FISHER, Born Oct. 27, 1807, Died Mar.28, 1889 (81-5-1). Ancestry not known. Wife Mary M. (GOFF) FISHER. Children - Etta married Alphonso DEE and they are buried at Palestine, Ill. Ellen married William Shannon HENRY(?). John B. married Agnes McCRILLIS and they are buried at Robinson, Ill. Joseph married first Sarah AMES, second Harriet CORTELYOU. Sister Mary married Daniel MOYER and they are buried at Hardensville, Ill." "Old Part of the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, IL," by King -- The listing for Mary M. (GOFF) FISHER is as follows: "Mary M. (GOFF) FISHER, Born Apr. 11, 1816, Died Mar. 29, 1874, 58-4-18, wife of Phillip FISHER, Daughter of F. M. and E. Hewitt GOFF. One of Philip’s sons, John B. FISHER, was born 10-31-1847, Woodville, OH, and died 8-18-1929. His Obituary - "Brother Joe (Oblong) survives. Sister Etta DEE. Left three children: Mrs. Fred B. Father - Phillip FISHER (birthplace unknown); Mother - Mary Elizabeth MOYER (born in Ohio). Burial - Robinson Old Cemetery. Another son, Joseph, was born 9-13-1849 Perry Co., OH, and died 9-26-1930. He first was married to Sarah AMES and then to Harriet CORTELYOU. Obituary of Joseph FISHER -- "He came to Illinois with his parents in 1871 and settled on a farm east of Oblong. On October 4, 187?, he was married to Emma AMES. To this union were born 3 daughters and one son. The wife and three daughters have gone to their reward.” According to one of his daughter’s obituarys, Joseph’s mother was Mary GOFF. I’d appreciate any help in unraveling this Mary GOFF-Mary MOYER mystery and also any other information on this family.
