I was told that his dau, Phoebe CARTER born Feb 4, 1812 in KY died May 13, 1881 in Flat Rock Married Jan 25, 1832 in Flat Rock to John "Bareheaded Johnny" PARKER born Oct 16, 1810 in OH? died Apr 19, 1901 in Flat Rock Phoebe & John's dau Elizabeth was born about 1835 in Flat Rock died (I have been told 2 different dates) Jan 31, 1881, buried Kinsey Cem, Butler Co., MO - & April 2, 1895 married Dec 25, 1850 in Flat Rock to Mason J. GOFF. According to the "History of Crawford & Clark Counties, Illinois" a S. B. A CARTER & George CARTER were early settlers of Crawford County. It goes on to say that S. B. A. CARTER was a county commissioner in 1818. Then it says that one of the original members of Wesley Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church, dating back to 1825, was S. B. CARTER & Margaret CARTER. Was Margaret his wife? Does this church still exist? Does anyone know if the records exist? How to get them if so? I would love to hear from anyone who has information about these people!
